Art Competition

Wildlife Habitat Canada invites Canadian wildlife artists to participate in an art competition held annually to select the image for the Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp (#CanadianDuckStamp) and Print.

2017 Art Competition

The 2017 Art Competition was held in early March 2016. The winning image was unveiled on April 1, 2017  featuring Canada Goose (Branta canadensis).

The year 2017 marks two special milestones: Canada’s 150th birthday and the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Birds Convention Act, which has protected hundreds of native bird species that migrate between Canada and the USA and the important habitat that these populations require.

2018 Art Competition

The 2018 Art Competition was held in early December 2016. The winning image will be unveiled on April 1, 2018 and will feature the Wood Duck (Aix sponsa).

2019 Art Competition

The species for the 2019 Art Competition will be announced in Summer 2017.

Although the art competition is by invitation only, Wildlife Habitat Canada welcomes new Canadian artists that may be interested in competing.
