The 2019 Stamp has been selected

Last month, WHC staff and judges gathering in a banquet room filled with over 20 different pieces of original artwork.  Canadian artists from all over the country had submitted an original art piece of the Canvasback (Aythya valisineria)  to compete for the title of the winning image on the 2019 Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp image

Our judging panel consisted of experts from the field of biology, orinthology, wildlife art and printing houses.  Throughout the day, judges meandered through the beautiful display of art and had the heavy task of selecting the best one to become a timeless symbol for conservation for the 2019 year. Not an easy task indeed. Judging criteria was based on species accuracy and originality.

It was quite the show!

The winning painting will be revealed on April 1st, 2019.  Stay tuned.

WHC would like to thank all the artists that participated in this  year’s competition. We were honored and extremely impressed by the quality of beautiful art we received this year.

The Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp is required (and included) to validate the MGBH permit for waterfowl hunters. As well, prints, lapels, collectible stamps and other products can also be purchased through our online store.

Thank you for supporting conservation!
