Pintails in Spring
by Robert Bateman
About the Painting
“I have shown two drakes in this springtime scene. The effect of light on form has always been a great interest of mine. The artistic challenge I set for myself in this painting was to show the importance of minor changes in the angle of light. Therefore a few degrees of difference in the angle of the head produced a great difference in the amount of light.”
