Ducks Unlimited Canada

Ducks Unlimited Canada” (DUC) was formed by a group of concerned waterfowlers in 1938 to implement habitat conservation projects on the Canadian prairies, where 70 percent of North American waterfowl originate.

After more than 70 years, 8,300 wetland projects and 6.6 million acres of conserved habitat, DUC has become Canada’smost trusted and respected conservation organization. The support from waterfowlers from both sides of the border has been pivotal to DUC’s success. The organization’s mission is to conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl, other wildlife and people.

DUC’s conservation efforts take many forms. On-the-ground work is guided by the wetland and waterfowl research of DUC’s scientists.

DUC works to change policy in favour of wetland and habitat conservation. DUC also delivers wetland and environmental education programs about wetlands and the need to conserve them. DUC is a proud program partner of the North American Waterfowl Management Plan (NAWMP).

DUC recently launched, a new website for North American waterfowlers.
