Wm. Michael Phippen
Retired Sr. Vice President and Managing Director
BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc.

Michael hails from Toronto, but has spent most of his working years in Waterloo, Ontario. After a long career in the investment industry, he retired and now spends most of his time at his cottage on an island in Georgian Bay.

Michael started hunting at the age of 12 and has always felt giving back to your vocations is an important part of life. In his industry, he sat as the President of the Kitchener and District Investment Dealers Association, and as a committed cottager did his turn on the Board of the Pointe au Baril Islanders Association.

During his hunting career, Michael has sat on the Board of SCI’s Ontario Chapter, and was the President of the Ruffed Grouse Society of Canada, where he became the organization’s first “lifetime member” in Canada. Michael joined the WHC Board in 2012 and currently sits as our Chairman.

Michael firmly believes that the current revival of hunting is largely due to an emerging public awareness of the value of organic food and understanding of the humane harvesting of natural meat.
