David Harris

Retired Regional Director, Eastern Region
Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources

Dave embodies what it is to be committed to the future of wildlife conservation in Canada. He is a retired Provincial biologist living on Cape Breton Island, and spends as much of his time as possible in the outdoors, usually with binoculars or a viewing scope in hand.

Dave is involved in bird surveys, identifying birds by sight and sound. He’s also an active member of the Bras d’Or Lake Biosphere Reserve Association, and volunteers for the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design.

He has been a member of the Wildlife Habitat Canada Board since 2015.
